Case Study 1: 3DX Environment Separation & Dual-Deployment Migration

Challenge
A North American manufacturer operating across
two business divisions — EV and mobility, and
bus manufacturing — required separation of a
unified 3DEXPERIENCE 2021x on-premise environment
into two independently operating platforms. One
division required an on-premise AWS deployment;
the other required migration to 3DX Public Cloud.
Both projects had to be delivered concurrently
while keeping the live production environment
fully operational throughout.
ABMTech Approach
ABMTech led solution architecture and delivery oversight across both workstreams. Data cleaning, transformation, and bulk-loading were executed via custom Java, REST API, Native and TCL scripts, enabling a controlled, repeatable migration process across both target environments. Both projects were delivered concurrently and on time.

Case Study 2: Cloud Adoption & REST API-Driven Migration
Sector: Precision Electronics Manufacturing Platform: 3DEXPERIENCE On-Premise → 3DX Public Cloud
Challenge
A precision electronics manufacturer needed to migrate from an on-premise 3DEXPERIENCE environment to 3DX Public Cloud within a 6 to 8 month window. The incumbent vendor’s standard file migration approach carried a timeline of over two years — leaving the manufacturer with no viable path to cloud adoption within their programme timeframe.
ABMTech Approach
ABMTech proposed and delivered an alternative REST API-based migration path. EBOM data was migrated via Public REST APIs, with Document Objects created with CAD file links through API — enabling immediate cloud usability on go-live. ABMTech led the migration architecture and delivery, completing full BOM and CAD migration within the 6 month target window.
Outcomes
On-time go-live in 6 months versus a 2+ year original vendor plan. 50% cost reduction versus original vendor estimate. Full EBOM and CAD data migrated to 3DX Public Cloud. MBOM enablement achieved — customer able to sync EBOM and create MBOM in the cloud environment immediately post go-live.
Case Study 3: PLM-to-3D Visualisation Integration
Sector: Technology / PLM Ecosystem Platforms: 3DEXPERIENCE and PTC Windchill
Challenge
A 3D visualisation technology provider needed to enable their platform to pull live CAD data directly from enterprise PLM systems — allowing stakeholders who do not have PLM access or CAD tools to visualise, review, and make decisions on product data through a lightweight 3D viewer. The integration needed to work across two major PLM platforms: Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE and PTC Windchill.
ABMTech Approach
ABMTech designed and delivered REST API integrations for both PLM platforms — connecting 3DEXPERIENCE and PTC Windchill to the client’s 3D visualisation layer. CAD data is retrieved directly from the live PLM environment and streamed securely to the viewer, preserving PLM governance and eliminating the need for file export. The integration was delivered across both platforms within a single engagement.
Outcomes
Live CAD data accessible to non-PLM stakeholders across the extended enterprise — suppliers, shop floor, and decision makers — without PLM licensing or CAD tool requirements. Dual-platform integration delivered across 3DEXPERIENCE and PTC Windchill in a single engagement. PLM governance preserved throughout — no file export, no IP risk.
